This summer has seen XOR work in conjunction with AAT (the Association of Accounting Technicians) to develop a colourful and highly innovative new piece of eLearning on the subject of "Professional Ethics".
Conscious of avoiding an uninspired approach to potentially dry subject matter, AAT approached XOR with a view to developing an eSolution that would raise member's awareness of ethical issues in regard to accounting practice.
XOR responded to the brief in inspired fashion, developing a number of Flash based, interactive case-studies that utilise a colourful, cartoon styling to bring the subject matter to life.
During the case-studies, users play the role of an accountant dealing with a range of ethical dilemmas. However, unlike in standard yes/no, right/wrong, multiple-choice eLearning, users can take a variety of paths through the scenarios, make mistakes and backtrack.
While the visually engaging design creates an initial appeal, the sophistication and nuances of the case-studies create an immersive experience for the user, who has to actually think about what they are reading.
Last week saw the release of the eLearning to more than 100,000 members and students worldwide, and AAT are positive that XOR's innovative approach will genuinely engage users and raise awareness in regard to professional ethics.
